Above is a seminal video by Peter Campus (1970) using very early chroma key processes and video mixers. Today, software makes this process a lot easier!
After I show you the basics, take the pop quiz below. Feel free to google tutorials for more tips and tricks on green screen processes. I will be around to help you with the technical details. If you like what you come up with, you can use it as a component of your project. If you really like this medium, you can use the green screen again on Wednesday (workday).
POP QUIZ:
#1 - 5 pts. pick a pal or group of pals to shoot a short video. Each person must have their own video, but you will likely need a camera person. Phone videos are fine! *tip, shoot phone videos horizontal unless you have a reason to go vertical.
#2 - 5 pts. import your video through premier or final cut either on the classroom computers or your own personal computer.
#3 - 5pts. Key out the green screen!
#4 - 5pts. Download a video or image to use as a background, stick it behind your video. Easy! Think about sound, sound is good.. right?
#5 - 5 pts. export your video and share it with the class :D
