For this project I decided to try to branch out of my usual mediums and aesthetic to experiment with something new- digital paintings. I created 4 personal lies that relate to my life, and then showcased one image that represented the truth. I created an apple orchard, a cat, a serene morning, a dancer, and the flatirons. The flatirons, my home, were representing the truth, and the rest were lies and did not represent my life. I had a lot of struggles along the way, as I'm not a fine artist and never digital painted before so I had to work out several problems with a medium I wasn't familiar with. I used reference images for some of them, but most I created just from my imagination. I also used an html hex color code picker that extracts the hex color codes from images in order to paint each image with as best accuracy as I could. I planned to frame the digital images as an ode to the painting, but could not find photo frames that fit my images dimensions, so I had to work around that in terms of presentation. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing around with drawing apps on my tablet, and even though I'm a beginner and definitely need more practice and refinement of my skills, I found out I really liked digital painting and will continue to do so in the future :)
