    Project 2: "Water Windows"

For my projection mapping project, I found two old paintings from goodwill that depicted a coastal scene in Italy or somewhere similar. You can see the paintings below:

I wanted to project onto the paintings and "bring them to life" using projection mapping. Specifically, I wanted to use music and audio to make the viewer feel both melancholic but hopeful at the same time. I wanted the viewer to feel like that cliche movie scene where the main character looks out the window of a car and looks very deep in thought.

I did this by recording an original song, and playing it with the sound of a thunderstorm. The audio plays, while I project various images of rain and water onto the coastal scene. Here is a video of the final product. I call it "Water Windows."
