For this final project, I experimented with a laser cutter, stencils and spray paint. Throughout the semester I have been developing concepts of femininity and the female experience. Women are constantly pressured to adhere to society's expectations and demands, that are often singular and unachievable. Not only does this occur, but women are also supposed to display a certain kind or facet of femininity, that aligns with being materialistic, shallow, and concerned with appearance. So, in this project I tried to convey the consumeristic and materialistic fantasy femininity that advertisers and in general society uses to slyly oppress women. I sourced images from the internet, edited them on photoshop and illustrator, and then hand cut some of the stencils, and used a laser cutter for others.
