I decided to do my first research blog on a fashion photographer/videographer called Solve Sundsbo. This artist is so interesting to me because he transforms traditional fashion photography into a true art form. A lot of his work is ethereal, seemingly dreamlike and too perfect for this world. His films and photos are extremely versatile, and he uses a wide range of techniques including but not limited to 3-D scanning, projection mapping, and hand-painted retouching. I respond to his work because of the ethereal feel, the kind of haunting nature to the photos. Lastly, he uses the figure in every single one of his pieces. Often times he drapes flowing clothing or delicate fabric over a figure to really enhance the dreamlike and harrowing elements.
