For this project, I want to revisit the idea I did for the last show, but my aim to to make it bigger and better! I want to rework photos digitally by making digital collages of sorts, using old, vintage photos I can find and pull from online archives. I love the aesthetic of taking an old image and giving it new life / context / and meaning by photoshopping it to create something new. I've always been fascinated by the past, and I love finding vintage photos from archives because you rarely get to know the story behind it, so It's fun to try to remix it and give a little bit of history a new meaning and to tell a story using the past and the present. My aim for the final product is to have a large poster (or multiple) of the printed reworked images. I really want to make something digitally, but have the final product as a physical object, because I've made a lot of art throughout my college career, but I don't actually have any physical / tangible art to keep and take with me, so I want to make something I can keep and take with me that will remind me of my time here (as I'm about to graduate!). Overall, I'm still working on a theme and working out the direction I want to go in and what I want to communicate with my reworked images, but I know the aesthetic Im going for. Below are some images that show what my idea sort of looks like and the direction I plan to go in with my reworked images. I will update with photos of my progress as I begin to finish my images.
